Return and Receive--Musings from May 2020 that we neglected to share!

As missionaries, we learned to RETURN and RECEIVE.  Jesus tells us in Matthew to remember the time that He was with us. We have returned, and love receiving! And we are remembering the time that we were with YOU!!

So, what have we received as we returned?  (Seven months of pictures...oh my! What if we start with this month?)  First of all, our Patterson bread-making craze continues in Kaysville!

We are learning that sometimes being "without root or branch" is desirable.

We are also learning to water, only now the seeds are a bit closer to home
Praying and preparing to collect and cherish more critters (grandchildren) as we treasure fall and winter moments "in person." Video and phone are fine, but our house and hearts are hoping and preparing for even better!

Since camping has been limited, we have heard of creative trends!
A basement trial run

We have enjoyed water fights, scavenger hunts,
Mother's day surprises, door plastered "heart attacks"

 Sunset walks

And watching (for and) over "little birds," including those wanting to try a new craft or skill
We have a family member trying out for "bat" girl! and another training in creating and fanning sparks.

Plants blossom, as we watch for beauty in the lives of loved ones far and near
Growth is good.  Gathering is greater!

Can you find anything better than watching loved ones growing, learning, graduating, giving?
Sparks we can hang on to for a moment or more, making a mind up to walk and grin.
These last two pictures are from July...but fit the sparks!!

(What we encounter on regular walks!)

Those we catch from afar, continue to bring light!

One respected
leader reflecting upon cherished blessings wrote:  "I heard in my mind—not in my own voice—these words: “I’m not giving you these experiences for yourself. Write them down..."
(Only we got distracted and forgot to share.)
Thank you for your patience! We love you!!
