What Strings Will we Connect Today?

Grandchildren this past week strung macaroni noodles with yarn.  As we work to make our goals with our personal "string art," our children are inviting us to make this year our "best year ever."
The goal: to connect or bind on earth
little ones,
building projects
bigger ones

  birthdays
getaways
 adventures at home

creating with cousins
beauty in tying together and letting loose
making puzzles, guessing, and

being stumped!
"Rising" to the occasion with sour dough whole wheat waffles

 and cinnamon rolls
Lengthening strides
 Getting glimpses
Collecting

Gathering

Gripping

and holding on
As we watch our little group grow (in the light!)
So...
"HOW do you like to go up in a swing,

Up in the air so blue?

Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing

  Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,

Till I can see so wide,

Rivers and trees and cattle and all

  Over the countryside—

Till I look down on the garden green,

Down on the roof so brown—

Up in the air I go flying again,

Up in the air and down!"

Stevenson, Robert Louis (1850–1894).  A Child’s Garden of Verses and Underwoods.  1913.

We are learning to go with the flow (even it comes in bucketfuls over our head)

And finding that trial runs in the rounding up can be fun,

and ever a surprise to see how things turn out!

As we string, sort, gather and give...may our eyes point upward

and may we hold your loved ones tight.
Blessings in the month of remembering connectedness.
Happy February
